Most Instructors Fix Faults

The best ones understand why they happen.

If you are only correcting what your learner does wrong,
you are staying on the surface.

This course shows you how to understand what is really driving their behaviour, so you can stop reacting and start teaching with purpose.

What makes this different

Most training tells you what to do.
Very little explains why it works.

That is where instructors get stuck.

You repeat the same instructions.
You correct the same faults.
Nothing really changes.

This course changes that.

You will learn how to identify what sits underneath the behaviour, so your teaching actually lands with the learner.

Built for real lessons, not theory

This is not generic coaching talk.

Everything inside this course is designed for use in the car, in real lessons, with real learners.

You will learn how to:

• Spot cognitive overload before it turns into mistakes
• Recognise when emotions are affecting performance
• Adapt your level of instruction in real time
• Move from correcting behaviour to developing thinking
• Turn faults into learning opportunities, not repetition

Aligned with how you are assessed

Whether you are preparing for Part 3 or a Standards Check, this course directly supports:

• Lesson Planning
• Risk Management
• Teaching and Learning Strategies

Not by ticking boxes, but by improving how you actually teach.

What you will get

• Structured video training focused on real instructional scenarios
• Downloadable PDF tools to support learning and reflection
• End of course assessment
• Certificate of completion

Who this is for

This course is for instructors who know there is a higher level to this job.

• PDIs preparing for Part 3
• ADIs preparing for or maintaining Standards Check performance
• Instructors who feel stuck correcting the same faults
• Instructors who want to develop real understanding, not just compliance

What changes after this course

You stop chasing faults.
You start understanding your learner.

Your lessons become more structured, more responsive, and more effective.

You are no longer guessing what to do next.
You know.

Final thought

If every lesson you deliver looks the same, regardless of the learner…

You are not teaching the learner.

You are teaching a system.

Ready to change that?

Join now and start teaching at a higher level from your very next lesson.

As co-founder and Managing Director of Knowledgeablee Instructor Training Ltd, I create resources for our subscription site, write for KIT MAG, and host The KIT Podcast—but my core passion is helping instructors truly understand their learners. I’ve been an ADI since 2011, ran a multi-car school from 2015, and have trained PDIs since 2016; joining the ORDIT register in 2020 strengthened my commitment to high-quality, learner-centred training.

My teaching is rooted in coaching and behaviour change. I hold the BTEC Level 4 in Coaching for Driver Education and am accredited by Cranfield University to deliver DriverMetrics psychometric profiling, which I use to tailor learning to each individual’s motivations, risks, and strengths.

In Understanding Your Learner, I draw on my learnings from various courses, books, experience and evidence-based strategies that build confidence, self-awareness, and lasting skills.
